Challenge: Obadore faced severe electricity deficits. Being situated far from the grid, the community depended heavily on noisy and expensive diesel generators, reflecting Nigeria's broader rural energy challenges. 💡
Action: Partnering with the African Development Bank (AfDB) and local leaders, ACOB Lighting secured funding and deployed a state-of-the-art 30kWp solar hybrid mini-grid system in 2019.
Result: The mini-grid now supplies clean, reliable, 24/7 power to more than 300 households and small commercial businesses. Obadore has seen a massive reduction in energy costs, improved night-time safety, and rapid local economic growth.
